envelope marked “NOMINATING COMMITTEE – MAIN OFFICE” by Friday, May 11, 2017.
Nominations will also be taken from the floor at the election meeting night on May 24th, 2017
The president and /or co-president is responsible for overseeing all PTO Executive Board Officers, members and activities; shall preside at all PTO meetings and be an ex-officio or all committees except the nominating committee; shall provide leadership for all of its members, delegate responsibilities and encourage participation in all school activities; shall sign and incorporate all amendments into the bylaws; shall attend regular meetings of the presidents’ council; shall be a core member of the SLT; shall have regular executive board meetings to plan agendas, events and general meetings; is signatory on all checks; has responsibility to all committees; shall assist with the transfer of incoming and outgoing PTA members; shall attend all Safety Committee meetings and CEC meetings including forums involving CEC candidate selections and voting.
The vice-president shall assist the president and/or co-president; shall assume the responsibilities of the president/co-president in his/her/their absence; shall be a signatory on checks; shall assist the transfer of incoming and outgoing PTO members.
The treasurer is responsible for all financial affairs and funds of the school including banking; shall maintain an updated record of all income and expenditures; shall be signatory on checks; shall provide monthly financial reports and interim reports (due January 31st and end of June); shall document and file all banking transactions in neat order; shall provide treasury reports and projections; shall attend all forums involving CEC candidate selections and voting.
The recording secretary shall maintain the official record (minutes) of all PTO meetings; prepare all agendas, notices, sign-in attendance sheets for all meetings; shall keep copies of paperwork filed in neat order; shall sign and incorporate all amendments into the bylaws and file them in the PTO room and principal’s office; shall attend all forums involving CEC candidate selections and voting.
The Fundraising Secretary shall be responsible for coordinating all special events and sales. The fundraiser shall all so be responsible for coordinating book sales, picture day, and any fundraisers that the board decides to hold.
The corresponding secretary is responsible for typing all letters of the president; shall run copies and prepare notices for distribution to the students; shall make preparations for all mailings and is responsible for going to the post office.
Financial Secretary (Co-Treasurer)

The marketing secretary was specifically created to increase activism by enlisting aid from the PS 682 parent population for all PTO events, functions and programs. The marketing secretary will also be the point person in presenting issues, ideas and proposals from the PS 682 parent population to the PTO executive board as well as maintaining the PTO website and PTO informational e-mail blasts.
